In general, the magic is the ability to consciously shape the world through the mind. In other words, magic is the same as Mindpower; Hoslizkeft, the word for magic in Zvagah, means preceisely that.
Magicians often think of the world as an illusion, and since it was made by Zha, the Spirit itself, it’s more durable than what any one can comprise alone. They often refer to the ability to “see through”, alas to se past the illusions and to see the Spirit that resides inside everyone and everything. The first criteria to be a magician, is to have or to learn, the ability to see the Spirit.
The Elements are often used by the magicians, and therefore they specializes themselves with one or more Element.
The other Forces are seldom used, and even more rarely Zha, the Spirit itself. This is because the other Forces and Zha are more powerful than the Elements, and therefore demands far more knowledge and wisdom to use.
There are also great risks in using magic. One of its limitations is that it all depend on how strong ones power is. If you try to use more magic than you can handle, you will burn out or die.
So a greater part of a magician’s life consists of building up magical power. The stronger you are, the more you can do. You also have to know for certain how a power works before you can handle it. Otherwise the magic can have a rather surprisingly effect.
Magic can be used and abused. In some countries the use of Magic is forbidden, while in others they have organised groups or schools to guide or teach the ones born with the ability and the ones wanting to be magicians, to use magic the right way. In these countries a lot of time and effort is used on hunting down unorganised magicians.
In other parts of the World, magic is seen as a natural and ordinary thing, and one is often trained by ones own family.
