There are several kinds of magic in the world. They can be used separately or combined. In addition, the different races have their own type of magic.

The two main kinds of magic are Greater and Lesser Magic. The terms “greater” and “lesser”, reflects how much power is used, and has nothing to do with the magician’s power.
There are two types of Greater Magic. One way is to summon one or more of the Forces. This rarely happens, becauce it takes a strong will or a great ability to persuade. This is because when you summon a force, you really summon its spirit. These spirits have strong minds of their own, and they can easily refuse what the magician demands, or they can do whatever they want to do.
The other way to use Greater Magic, is when several magicians together focus their power on a specific target. This requires mutual trust and focus, or it can have catastrophic consequences. Examples of Great Magic are invisible walls, floding an area or to split the sea.
Lesser Magic is when you use the power within you. Examples of Lesser Magic are to create a personal illusion, or to cast a light with your mind. Lesser Magic is also used when making magical items, like talisman, swords etc.
Constructive and destructive Magic – Otyhkeft zu Wytokeft
These two kinds of magic are a way of using the Forces, especially the Elements and should not be confused with the using of the Forces Otyh and Wyto.
Constructive Magic is when you ‘add’ something, like creating the illusion that a army is greater than it really is. Destructive Magic is when you ‘extract’ something, like when casting the illusion of invisibility.
Just like Otyh and Wyto, it’s important to keep the balance. If you create something, you have to tear it apart afterwards and vice versa. This is not always done, and this is the reason magicians have a bad reputation certain places. They let the illusions they’ve created endure. And a lot of magicians specializes themselves in cleaning up the mess of others.
Magic amongst Men
The Race of Men is capable of using all the Forces and all kinds of Magic, but they are limited by their own belief in and perception of magic. In addition, their short lifespan limits how strong a human can become.
Men use magic mainly to attack or defend. Many humans specializes in summoning the Forces, and those are the ones often called priests and priestesses, since this type of magic is considered as a religious act.
Elven and Dragon Magic
Elves and Dragons are limited by their ‘own’ Elements. This means Dragons have difficulties in using Water and Darkness, and Elves almost lack the ability to use Fire and Light. In return they are very gifted in their own Elements.
Both Dragons and Elves use magic to defend themselves, most often against Men. Elves often use magic in their smithing, crafting, building etc. Dragons on the other hand, seldom use magic.
Magic in other beings
There are many animals and creatures with magic qualities in the World, or they are perceived as having these qualities. Amongst them are Unicorns and Storffs, since they are capable of speaking the human language. But in most creatures this ‘magic’ is merely a quality, rather than a conscious act.
