The High Elves vanished from the World at the 64th day of Fall in the year 454 in the Second age of the Shadows. Before this mysterious disappearance, they were one of the greatest Powers in the World.
They were called the High Elves because many amongst Men regarded them as the greatest race of the Elves.
The High Elves’ emblem was the silver crescent moon, and they were a tall, slim and gracious elf race. Their skin was like white silver, their hair like silver and bronze and their eyes were like moonbeams, deep shadows and silent water. Like all other elves, they had high cheekbones, oblique eyes, pointy ears and four fingers on each hand.
They were of the most long living elf race, and many of them lived for over ten thousand years. It is said that they grew up fast and aged slowly, a feature that made them seem timeless.
The High Elves liked to live under pine trees and deciduous forest, and they had their realms in countries where such land were.
Their capitol city was named Ba’Mahnien; the City of the Moon, and was located in the Northwest of TurSikos’ great forest. The city was known to be one of the greatest in the World, and had high castles, beautiful parks and marble streets.
Ba’Mahnien also housed the High Elves’ leader, the High Prince Reiliche and his sister Dvul’Ofneh. The High Prince wasn’t only the head of the High Elves, but was considered to be the king of all elves.
Just like the High Elves, all their cities and realms vanished from the World, but you can still feel the magic in the places were they used to live.
The High Elves were great magicians, smiths, hunters and artists. And many of their weapons and jewellery is in the ownership of the Order of the Moon, that regard these things as holy.
The High Elves were the elf race that had most contact with humans. They were equal to the human population in the countries they lived, and many kings came to seek their advice.
The High Elves fought to stop all injustice amongst Men, and the injustice committed by Men upon the rest of the population of the World. In TurSikos, they were active in the resistance against the Law Lords and the Witch Laws. Many of those whom were wrongly convicted sought refuge amongst the elves.
No one knows why the High Elves vanished so suddenly. The Order of the Moon believes it’s a punishment for all the cruelty Men has done to the World, while the Children of the Spirit and the Order of the Dragons agrees that it was Zha that punished the High Elves.
Many believe that the High Elves are not completely gone, and say that they have been seen in the darkest shadows of the night. Others find this as wishful thinking, and say that the High Elves are gone for good. But still, many pray and hope that the High Elves will some day return and once again will make the World a better place to live.
