The Thieves are hated by the rich and loved by the poor. They are everywhere and do their best to make life miserable for rich and wealthy people.
The Thieves believe that the wealth of the world is not equally divided, and they have taken upon themselves to divide this wealth equally between all people. For this reason they strongly dislike being mistaken for the common thieves, who only steal to make profit for themselves, and who are no better than the rich people who gather more riches than they actually need.
The Thieves believe that all people have the right to a place to live, three meals a day, two sets of clothing, a patch of land, at least one household animal (cow, sheep, chicken etc.), one weapon and 50 pieces of bronze coin. Therefore, they take from those who has more than this, and give to those who has less.
This counts for themselves as well. A Thief with no shoes will steal a pair of shoes for himself. It also occurs that they occupy a house in a town with many homeless people, or take half a flock of sheep and give the sheep to people who are in need of a household animal.
But what is most special about the Thieves is that they always ask before they take anything from anyone. And they feel forced to steal from the rich, since they usually are not willing to share their wealth.
Naturally, they have great respect for all who’s willing to share their wealth with others. And it is said that the Thieves keep countless lists over good and bad people, groups and countries.
They do have their own country, which is located south east on the Northern continent, where all live after their principles, and where nobody has more than they actually need. This land is called the Land of the Thieves, but before they came, it originally had another name. The Thieves talk about this land as if it is paradise, and they believe it to be the proof of that all can live by their standards.
The Thieves carry no special mark, and it it therefore impossible to know who is a Thief, and who is not. For they also exist among other groups in the World, and a monk can also be a Thief.
But somehow they know each other, and it is often wondered if they have a secret sign among them. But the Thieves keep their cards close, and would rather die than reveal their secrets.
