The Children of the Spirit is a priest and monk order. They wear black capes, with their mark embroided on the back. The mark is a purple disc with an overlaying white cross. This is supposedly an ancient symbol for Men.
Their name in Zvagah is Zha’si’Dreny, which is a wordplay on Zha’vu’Dreny which actually mean “Man/ The Race of Men” in Zvagah.
The name is no longer used, since the Children consider Zvagah to be the language of Evil. The only Zvagah word they use is Zha, which they call “the Name of the Spirit”, and the word is holy for them.
In common speech, they are often called “black monks”, but among their own, they are referred to as “the Children”.
The Children of the Spirit is one of the oldest orders in the World, and they were founded in the last years of the Second age of the Night, by a man named Norwien. The name means the Eternal, and rumour has it that he is still their current leader, 11 000 years later.
Their main seat is located east of the capitol of TurSikos, Vu’Ba’Ycli. The main seat is a huge fortress, which over 8 000 men call home. Activities here include training in magical and martial arts. They also breed horses, and their tall black horses is just as much a mark of their order as their black capes.
The Children also has a lot of colonies east and south on the Northern continent. There are also some sects which follows their belief on the Southern continent.
The Children of the Spirit has many scriptures which relate to their history and faith. The most important one is called the Book of Norwien. This book was originally written in Zvagah, but has been translated into TurSikosan, which is the main language for the Children.
The Children of the Spirit believe that Man is above all other creatures in the World. The lowest creatures are elves and dragons, which they call demons. They believe that these creatures robbed Man of their eternal life and strength, and thus they consider elves and dragons to be evil and not trustworthy. Thus one of the main objectives for the Children is to fight and work against those who follow the elves and the dragons. This is mainly the Order of the Dragon and the Order of the Moon, and there has been numerous religious wars over the years because of this.
They also spend a lot of time looking for boys and men with violet eyes, because they think that these are the highest standing humans. They are also waiting for the Supreme Man, which Norwien has prophesied will come and save the Race of Men from the reign of elves and dragons.
