The Order of the Moon consists of both monks and nuns. They bear blue capes and dresses and their mark is the silver grey new moon, which also is the mark of the High Elves.
Their name in Zvagah is Zremuxi’Mahnye. In common speech, they are often known as “blue nuns” or “blue monks”. Amongst themselves and other orders, they are known as “Servants of the Moon”, or “Servants of the Elves”
The Order of the Moon was established early in the Second Age of the Air by a group of worshippers of the elves, who wanted delve more into their faith. This means that the Order of the Moon is a “young” order, merely 6000 years old.
Their main seat is in the heart of the northern forest in TurSikos, in the village of Ba’Liu. There they do training in magic, martial arts and healing. They are widely renowned for the latter, and their house of healing is open to the masses.
Despite their “young age”, the order is wide spread. There are numerous sects and subgroups of the Order all over the World. This comes from the fact that there are elves almost everywhere, but the Order has also been very busy with pilgrimages.
The Order does not have a single holy scripture, but many, since they have written down every word uttered by an elf in their vicinity. These scriptures has over the last 500 years become an invaluable source of knowledge regarding the High Elves after their unexplained disappearance. Without these scriptures, little or nothing would have been known about them.
According to the Order, all Elves are Gods, and the emissaries of the Spirit in the World. They strive to be like the elves, but since they are merely human, they are very limited and inferior. This means that they never speak to the elves, but only listen since the words of an elf is considered holy.
They also consider Zvagah to be so holy that it can only be used in religious ceremonies, and thus only the highest within the order know the language, and then only barely.
The Order believe dragons to be evil and name them demons. They think that these creatures would be better extinct, since they are responsible for all evil Man has experienced throughout time.
The Order spend a lot of time on pilgrimages to areas inhabited by elves. And after the disappearance of the High Elves in the middle of the Second Age of the Shadow, they have also spent great amounts of time trying to find the lost elves, and so far they have looked in vain.
The Order of the Moon is very secretive order, and if anyone wants to join them, they have to be sought out. They are also the only order which never has directly gone to war against another order. But they defend themselves when needed, and then especially against the Children of the Spirit and the Order of the Dragon.
